    out of sync sound

    Hi, regards to all
I have a few TV recordings in Xvid and find TMPEnc wont encode the sound (probably the variable bit rate I read about in these forums.
Virtual dub will give me an avi file with readable sound but with a skew of up to 6000ms so the sync is way off.

Is there a better, quicker way to convert to DVD without having to make WAV files and then decode.

Converting .AVIs with VBR-MP3 Audio for use with TMPGEnc

Using VirtualDubMOD to Convert "VBR" .MP3 to Uncompressed .WAV

    1) Load the .AVI file into VirtualDubMOD (a different program than the standard VirtualDub)

    2) From the "Video" dropdown menu, select "Direct Stream Copy"

    3) From the "Streams" dropdown menu, select "Stream List" - and rightclick on the audio stream, then select "Full Processing Mode" - then click on "OK"

    4) From the "File" dropdown menu, save .AVI with a new filename

      Hi Thanks for the reply,
I found the easiest way was simply to make a WAV file in virtualdub and then make the mpeg2 file in TMPEnc using the avi as video source and the WAV file as the audio source. worked a treat. then author the dvd and burn it.
I had been messing about trying to manually shift the sound part of the file etc. crackers.
      thanks again

Your original question - "Is there a better, quicker way to convert to DVD without having to make WAV files and then decode."

Your last statement - "I found the easiest way was simply to make a WAV file..."

        A bit of a contradiction?

Sounds like iz0nlee has it all figured out! Good thing iz0nlee didn't have to ".....make WAV files..." huh?
