Convert the xvid file with a program such as DrDivx.

        1. I open the xvid file in Dr Divx(version 1.0.6) where is says 'choose video file'
        2. Click next when it asks to select audio input(track in video input)
        3. Choose 'home theatre' option on left of next window
I select the top option - 'make 1 file of @same size of original xvid ( so if original xvid is 700mb that is what I enter)
        click next
        4. Select output (where I want to save the new file)
In the modify settings option, I usually keep the aspect ratio at 1:1 and audio bitrate 128kbps and 44.100 kHz
        5. Next select 'encode'

And once that is finished, you now have a divx file that will play in an ESS chipped dvd/mpeg4 player.

          Girlfromthesun:
*smile* I have spent about half a year looking for a command, button or something like that so I could remove qpel. And you tell me that all I have to do is to reencode the xvid...

I clearly have a problem with the simple solution! Thank you for the your help

            Your welcome.
If you download the new Gspot (v2.5?) it will tell you if the xvid(avi) you have has qpel in it.
This will save yourself alot of time.
            Take care

but after converting with dr. divx, appears assynch. but not, some miliseconds early or later through all movie. after some time assynch appears, later all goes synch. and again... what's wrong?

Is this with every movie you convert, or only one in particular?
It could be a problem with your original file.
