Joining AVI files

I read the instructions om Nickys Page about joining avi-files in Virtual Dub. I have 10 x 2 Mb files that I want to join into 1 file. but when I do it in Virtual Dub the joined file is 950 Mb!
What am I doing wrong?
I open video file, than append video file 1 ny 1 and then save as AVI. I also tried save as old AVI format but same result.

Can anyone help me?

Make certain that both "Video" and "Audio" are set to "Direct Stream Copying"...
