Overlapped I/O operation on HDD

I'm new to this forum and have searched all of the "overlapped operations" errors but have not found exactly my problem.

I'm getting the message:
"DVD Shrink has encounterd an error....
Failed to "open file:
C:\Documents & Settings\Administrator\Ripped File\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_9.VOB
Overlapped I/O operation in progress.

The file is on the HDD.

I have downloaded one of our old VHS- Tape Movies to the HDD with HP Movie Writer.
The movie is now on the HDD and has the .mpg extension.
From there I used "vso divXtoDVD" to convert the movie files to VIDEO_TS

When it's finished converting it automatically starts all over again doing the same thing.

It looks like it has all of the .VOB/.BUB./IFO files and I can play it on my laptop.

Now my problem: I'm trying to use DVD Shrink to be able to fit it onto a DVD and then burn it with Nero 6.0 (incl. all of the updates)
Now I'm getting the error message: failed to open file....Overlapped I/O operation....

I'm using WinXP Pro.
Have enabled/disabled "operlapping I/O ,
have enabled/disabled burning with Nero in the "preferences".
Nothing seems to make any difference.

I will be very grateful for any suggestions you have.

Just how many VOBs are there in your VTS_01?

There are 12 VTS_01
Two VTS_01_0.BUB
One VTS_01_0.IFO
One VTS_01_0.IFO

This is all very confusing to me and I'm grateful for any suggestions you have.

This can't be. There would be:

1 VTS_01_0.IFO
1 VTS_01_0.BUP
A number of VTS_01_x.VOB

Let's take a closer look, please.

You should also look at this.

The maximum number of VOB files in a VTS is 10 (0, which is the menu, through to 9). If you have more, your project is out of spec and DVD Shrink is choking on it. You will need to join some VOBs.

Instead of using "vso divXtoDVD", an alternate set of procedures (other posters may/probably will suggest alternative methods) would be:

1) If not already DVD-compliant, use "TMPGEnc" (or "TMPGEncPlus") to convert the MPEG to compliant MPEG2-for-DVD format - Use "TMPGEnc's" DVD wizard/template to accomplish this (This step may not be necessary, if your MPEG-2 files are already in DVD compliant format)

2) Use "TMPGEnc DVD Author" (a different program than "TMPGEnc") to easily create the required additional DVD files and structure (and chapters and a menu, if you wish)


**If the combined filesize of the DVD "package" written to your hard drive is greater than 4.37Gb, use DVD Shrink (or similar) to compress


If your O/S is either Win2000 or WinXP, TMPGEnc DVD Author can also burn your DVD. Otherwise, use NERO to burn in "DVD-Video" mode
(As an alternative to "TMPGEnc DVD Author", you could use "DVDLab")

Yes, there are actually 12 VOB's .
Maybe that's my problem.
I will try to get TMPGEnc or DVDLab.
Will let you know asap how it turned out.
