We have the sony PSP, and loaded an MP3 on it, and it now has a picture of the album cover on it.. There's no other file associated with it, So we're confused.. Anyone?
I know this is off topic but, how do you get a picture file on an MP3?

Pop the disk in your PC and look at the file structure. IN particular, there will be files in the root folder, probably named Jacket_p, or something like this. These are pix of the covers.

Welcome back "Enchanter" (No more washerwoman" avatar?)
"programs like Musicmatch can embed pictures, lyrics and other stuff into MP3 files. This particular file is likely to have been edited that way."
Does that mean the suggestion that, "IN particular, there will be files in the root folder, probably named Jacket_p, or something like this. These are pix of the covers." is incorrect?Comment

Not from my experience. I had used Musicmatch a few years back and used the program to embed cover pictures, lyrics and other small stuff through the player's ID3 editor. There were no additional files created, so it is safe to assume that Musicmatch has somehow embedded the information into the .MP3 file itself.

You're missing 'er?

Correcting myself - there will be a FOLDER in the root folder called JACKET_P, in which there can be up to 6 .mp2 files representing, in both PAL and NTSC format, small medium and large jacket pictures.
I do hope this set(arip)s things straight.

I see what you mean. I'd place $$$ on Enchanter's explanation.

"By, "Not from my experience.", I gather you mean, no, there won't be any files in a root folder (whether named "Jacket_p" or anything else)? - only pictures embedded in the .MP3 file..."
That's right.
BTW, why is this thread in the XviD sub-forum? Someone should move it to the appropriate place.
Cheers!Comment

Hey guys, Sorry I havent come back to this thread, I thought it was dead... Anyways, there is no other file associated with the MP3. I havent used Musicmatch in a very looong time, but it does sound like the picture is embedded into the MP3 somehow.... NOt really a big deal as its not necessary for me live, but very interesting, and ofcourse, I always wanna know how someone did something out of the ordinary.... Anyways, there a few forums where I really appreciate the members, this is definitely one of those forums.... I just thought i'd give credit where credit is due....Comment

Actually, thinking about it, I only know of one other forum that has this class of people... I do classical compositions using gigasampler and kontakt software samples, I also do Rock and metal with my guitar but I visit Northernsounds.com for the classical. If you're a musician especially movie music, you will find some of the best music score composers that actually work with hollywood there, and samplers are starting to put live orchestra's out of a job because of how close a sampler and good samples sound real.. OK i'm off path here, BUt these guys are some of the most helpful and patient and respectful people, great bunch of guys and this place reminds me of that level of maturity and commradery.... Ofcourse I visit alot of gaming communities because I have to to get information, and it's down right childish...Comment
