I tried finding information in this forum about this conversion and all I found was to use avisynth but not instructions on how to do it, could you please provide them here using this or another program capable of doing this conversion which I tried to solve and keep getting unsynched video.

See here. But it's better to get a player that can play PAL as well as NTSC. Save yourself a lotta problems.

seeing your in the divx forum i assume you have an avi video.
as "blutach" stated it's much easier to get a compatible dvd player and save yourself alot of problems.
If you do want to convert IMO the best way is to de-mux the audio and video
encode the audio and video separately
check to see if the audio and video are the same length
correct if needed
mux the audio and video togetherComment
