Greetings!
I recentrly bought a Mediagate MG-25 and I was really excited when I got it, but quickly became disappointed when I tried to play my mpeg4v2 encoded files. NOT SUPPORTED! Who wouldnt include mpeg4v2 playback on a mpeg4/divx/xvid playback device?!
Anyway, I fired off an email to the company to fix it in the next firmware release, but until then I want to transcode some of my favorite files so I can watch them on this device. So heres the deal, I want to know the best way to setup the xvid codec in VirtualDub so I can retain as much quality as possible.
The originals are mpeg4v2 encoded at 480x360, these are DAP releases if you're familiar with them. I used the default AS @ L5, single pass, and I wasn't all that impressed with the results (don't know if I'm being too picky). I was pleased that they play but I think I'm losing quality.
Any suggestions??
thanks
