    Converting MPEG with DivxToDVD HELP

Hello. I have home movies I have on VHS that are very sharp, clear picture and sound. But when I capture the footage to my computer and then convert the files, the quality seems to go down a bit. Why isn't the picture the same? I burned 8x and 2X and results didn't change. Any suggestions?

what does the quality of the captured video look like ? What does it look like after you convert it but before you burn it. It'sprobably in your conversion.

Captured video looks clear like the vhs. it appears to look the same when I convert the files using divx to dvd...so i don't know why it's not coming out "DVD quality"....I spent $75 on this Dazzle vhs converter thinking I could easily transfer VHS and make quality home movies to DVD and it's been nothing but a headache. The picture on the DVD is not bad or anything, but you can see different things when the screen goes black. Like some lines or light, minor signs of digital pixels showing up.

If the files are clear after you convert to dvd and not clear after you burn it would appear as bad media and or a bad burn. You could try a different brand of media but I would try the burnt dvd in another dvd player 1st to see how it looks. Could be media compatibilty with your stand alone dvd player. Good luck and let us know how you make out.
