i haven't even heard of "pocketdvd", let alone used it, but LAME is an mp3 codec... try downloading & installing it from here http://www.free-codecs.com

if you are not too attached to "pocketdvd", i suggest you use "gordian knot" for dvd-->xvid encodes, it gives the highest possible quality IMO. here's a step-by-step guide to using it: http://www.divx-digest.com/articles/...rdianknot.html

and an excellent guide to setting up xvid: http://www.divx-digest.com/articles/xvid_setup.html

PocketDVD is a software designed to let you copy a dvd to a avi file. You can copy that avi file to a PDA so you can watch it on the PDA.

I tried downloading the LAME codec and had no luck fixing my problem. I'll give gordian knot a try and see if it will do what I need.

      Thanks for your help.
