Virtual Dub and Hauppauge WINTV USB2

Du you have any experience with using VirtualDub 1.6.9 and Hauppauge TV tuner for capturing ?
When I tried to pick my hauppauge card in VD menu (I can see three otions 0,1,2 and num. one is Hauppauge card) it says that VD cannoct connect to the desired capture driver. But no idea why. Thanks for all ideas.
(just to explain I am already one year satisfied with capturing by Sage TV recorder but I would like to try capturing directly to DivX)

that takes alot of pc to do. Of the capture software that I have tried I like Virtual VCR.
(free) I seem to get better captures and less problems with dropped frames. You might want to give it a try.
