    mp4 codec for other resolution

    Hi,

nice beeing here with you again.Hope to spend more time at DVForum soon.

Is there any mp4 codec which allows conversion from 720x576 to lower screen resolutions like 352x240/288 and maybe also keeping 5.1 AC-3 sound?

    best regards
    Diego

    x264, gives excellent results

can't think why you would want such a low res video with 5.1 sound even if you're using an ipod/psp connected to a sound system, the battery life would drain horribly i would think, and you would have to keep it plugged into an outlet...

    that's IF i assumed correctly

depends on a good codec.Sure, you loose some quality but for TV its okay and 5.1 is a must have for my Logitech audio surround system
