    Can't Cut the File.

    I used Mpeg Mediator to convert a movie to .avi the avi came out great sound and video, but I made the movie to be 2 CDs when I go to cut it I can't.
    When I right click the file the information is as follows.
    No Copyright Information
    Media Legth- This file is invalid or corrupt.
    and there is no info for audio format or video format. But the rip is great. Is there anyway to fix this?

    Load the file into VirtualDub. From under the "File" dropdown menu, select "File Information". Post EVERYTHING listed (video and audio details)...

          Is this the information from the original file, or from your conversion via Mpeg Mediator?

          You've somehow managed to create a defective file, containing only 35,000 frames of audio for a video of 195,000 frames...

            This is the .avi file that was created from the VOB files off the DVD. It is the same story on all the files I get from MPeg Mediator but they play perfect audio all the way through the movies and the audio and Video are in sync perfectly.

              I'd suggest that you once again load the file into VirtualDub.

              Set both "Video" and "Audio" to "Direct Stream Copying" and resave the .AVI with a new filename.

              IMPORTANT: Make certain that, under the "Audio" dropdown menu, under the "Interleave" tab, there is a checkmark before "Enable audio/video interleaving".

              Let us know of your success ;>}

                After doing what you said here are the stats on the new file
                The old file was 1.37GB
                The new file is 1.27GB and now there is no sound at all.

                10000/10000/10000 (10K)

                Remember when the movie is played there is no problem at all, it is just when I try to cut the file that there is a problem. Thanks

                  I figured out how to fix this problem, I had to decompress the audio then with virtual dub go direct stream copy with the video and full process mode with the audio and under compression choose mpeg layer-3 48000Hz and recompress the movie then all the information is there for the avi and I can cut it any way I like. Kind of a pain in the #@$ but it works if you can think of a better way please let me know. Thanks for all your help
