    convert xvid to AVI

    I had downloaded xvid formated video, I wish to convert it to avi or an mpeg format. I am aware of the quality loss, but I want to import several videos and make a dvd with the "mydvd" program. My dvd does not recognize xvid or divx video. Does anyone have any suggestions? Perhaps another program besides MYDVD! Or a program to convert xvid to avi format?

      your file doesn't have ".avi" as an extension? could you post the file info from virtualdubmod or gspot? perhaps you just need a codec...

          do as LT stated and see what type of file you actually have. Then convert to a compliant dvd mpeg 1/2 with a program such as Tmpgenc or mainconcept or similiar. Author the output with a program such as Tmpgenc dvd author
