virtualdub 1.4

Plz help,

I have got virtualdub 1.4 and i am tring to convert a dv type-1 file into a divx. However, i get an error message telling me that the audio can not be converted. i have downloaded and installed main cancept dv codec and still no joy. i also have divx 5 installed. what can i do?

What is the format of the audiostream?

WHICH version 1.4 of VirtualDub are you using (there are versions 1.4A through 1.4F and 1.4_6 through 1.4_9)?

im using 1.49.

I have no idea what the format is. It is footage i have transfered from my DV cam via firewire.

You can determine the format as follows:

Load the file into VirtualDub

From under the "File" dropdown menu, select "File Information"

Post (here) EVERYTHING that's listed, or post a screen capture .jpg of the information box...

According to that screen, your video is silent (It contains no audio)...

I'd suggest that you search these forums using the keyword "firewire", as I recall seeing some postings regarding similar difficulties.

yeah there is sound its ok when o convert using tmpgenc.

In answer to your question.....it's cool. i can flood entire countries but damn i wish i could work out this virtualdub
