Does AutoGK not support Divx 6?

Also, when people speak of GK - not AutoGK - is that the "rip pack"?

make sure you have the latest divx (6.03) as well as the latest autogk (2.26), divx 6 is supported.

but IMO results are always better in quality/speed with xvid

and in answer to your second question, yes

            what was the error message?

in any case, uninstall & re-install

It's like an explorer .exe crash thingy - sys restore, uninstalling - nithing seems to make this version work.

According to the doom9 web site, the problem I was having has to do with the latest version of divx. I uninstalled divx 6 and now it starts just fine. Hmm.

Though I have divx 6 on another comp. and autogk 2.26 works...

But not the latest 6 - when I upgraded AutoGK crashed. AutoGK does no work with the latest Divx 6, but at Doom9, you can get a divx .dll that will enable you to run AutoGK without crashing with the latest Divx installed on your machine - it just won't use Divx. If you want the .dll - actually - they send you back here http://www.divx-digest.com/software/autogk.html
