How convert m2v to mpg or any other format?

(hard for me to work with m2v's so just perfer a different format)
anyway to convert this to mpg, avi or something else?

.m2v is an MPEG2 format videostream. There is no conversion necessary. Simply change the extender from ".m2v" to either ".MPG" or ".MPEG" and any software DVD player should play the file - as will Windows Media Player, if you've installed (and registered to Windows) the required MPEG2 filters...
