    Convert .vob for editing???

Heres the deal. I'm trying to help a friend who bought a Sony Handycam that records to DVD. According to him the model he has there are no USB/Firewire Ports to transfer video files to comp. the cam does leave a video_Ts and audio_Ts folder on the disk. Is there anyway to convert the .vob file to a format that he can then edit in an NLE. I'm a Mac Guy he has Windows so I''m guessing he would need to end up with .wmv?????

    Thanx in advance

use dgindex to create a .d2v file and then convert to .avs using gordian knot or vapi codec to create a frame server i used this to edit vobs in vegas video. i think u may be able to drop .vob files straight into vegas.

If you only want to cut parts do this
1 rip the video to your hard drive
2 open the rip with dvdshrink (free)
        3 use re-author to cut the part/s
if you want to add titles/transitions etc. Ulead Video Studio is what I like/use. you can d/l a trial version from their website
