    GUYZ:

what is the best bitrate for a 700MB cd rip?

how can I make it "better" quality when ripping the dvd? I have done a second DVD rip, using a slightly different method, this time using VBR MP3 audio, and now gives me a bitrate of 886 then 906!!! HELP!!!

There is no one bitrate that is suitable for all movies. Different play lenght and different movie lighting conditions will require different bitrate. Generally, the longer the movie is, the less bitrate you can use. The more dark scenes the movie has, the more bitrate you can assign. However, calculators are generally accurate with their predicted values. Just lower it in case of oversized video file. You can always make do with a video that is lower than 700MB, but not those over 700 MB (You can't burn them to CDs).

        hehehe....

I re-did the rip, using DIVX in nandub this time and left it over night, I just did the video, and left the audio.

Woke up this morning and saw the quality:

        WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!!!

        DVD quality!

I am very impressed, thanks alot guyz!!! Greatly appreciated.

Now, do I use virtualdub to add the CBR audio or nandub?

        virtualdub 1.4.10 is released, FYI.

Also, how can I brighten it up a bit with out having to do a 2pass again?

You should use nadub to mux the audio and if you want to brighten it up just add a filter. I don't know any names on them, just check it out and see any one you think is good. And just in case don't save as the same name. It's not fun if you do something wrong... trust me on this=)
