I think you mean "rip" a disk (or at least hope you mean it)

Regardless of that, it may be damaged. Stuff does not come out of any factory with 100% quality.
Just cos you can't see a problem doesn't mean it isn't there.
Also what DVD is it? If it is ARccOS protected, do follow the link in Kill ARccOS
