You may want to check out this program that I found on the internet. Shows a lot of promise and may be what you are looking for.

AJP do you have any idea if StaxRip will run (get along with) FairUseWizard if you already have it installed?
Since it's free I was thinking of trying it ... just because

shulthise, I have FairUse Wizard installed and the way I do it, it works easy and well. It even tells you go away and do something else for a while. Takes 3-5 hours to run on my 2.8 with 1gb of ram.
I have the boughten version of it ($20) ... the free version works fine and well but only allows a file size of 700mb and the purchased version allows you to set the output file size.
I use DVDShrink (whatever you want) to make the movie an ISO image file and FairUse does it's thing and turns it into an avi file with very little user input.
I suggest you try the free version first and see if it's something you like.

If you have anydvd you don't even have to rip the dvd first, it can do it's thing straight from the disc. I have both staxrip and fairuse installed without issue. Also fairuse allows encoding with h264.

Thanks! I have it downloaded and was waiting for your reply before I installed it. I'll go ahead and give it a shot as well.

Can you choose the output type (just curious) for it? Fairuse I can seem to only get avi from it ... could be me but if there's a setting I missed it.

If you are looking for a 1 click app that yields pretty decent results try the latest Divx play Bundle, the Converter now has a few setting to tweak if you want to but you can pretty much pick the profile, drop the file and convert. The results are pretty nice considering the simplicity of the app
