    nah i couldnt b bothered
    takin out OP and ED
coz of da intro before the OP
and the outro after the ED
    resolution 352*256
I think it is bcoz eva
has soft lines and the background isnt outlined as hard
    nadesico had hard black lines
    and it was in space
with lots of start sparklin in the background

    ps is my avatar workin?

If the movie is mostly in dark areas, you can always assign a higher bitrate and end up with a final filesize that is somewhere near your target. The codec tends to use less bitrate (Black areas do require so much less bitrate, to the point of too little). By the way, is the size of your Nadesico episode about the same with that of your eva rips?

the nadesico and eva are mostly the same
sine eva is a bit longer and a bit bigger in size than nadesico
i just realised that the excellent quality was only for the OP
for eva the rest was about the same quality as nadesico
and how do u get avatar?

Ripping anime episodes into 50MB sizes is always a big quality loss. You should do it only if you don't care much about quality but more on 'more episodes in 1 CD.'

I have a lot of of anime pictures, wallpapers and others that can be used (with resizing to the proper size) for avatars. I thought that picture of Multi of To Heart was cute enough. Apparently, not. I hope Sakura will do a better job at it.

p.s. Or were you asking how to put up a picture of your Avatar?

Yeah wot Im aking is how do u put up avatars
and im gettin over the quality loss
            its not bad
but i dont understand why i get macroblocks
when characters do a sudden movement
and when in full motion i dont get any macroblocks
is it becuase the sudden character movements are
not fast enough for nandub to change to fast codec?
should i lower the bars for fast and slow motion?

The user control panel (Top right of the screen) is where you should go.

As for your quality issue, have you followed the set of nandub settings I suggested to you? The one you previously showed me will definitely give you terrible results in the fast-motion scenes.

yeah i did follow your insrtuctions
it gives tonnes good quality for fastmotion
but when characters make a sudden movement(eg. when they look up quickly)
i get macroblocks around their faces

You could try lowering the curve compression for the fast-motion curve (high). I don't usually modulate the curve based on motion either, so you could try doing likewise. Whatever you do, just keep on changing the settings till you get what you want. That's the fun of encoding.

p.s. Got a picture for your avatar already? I think I'm the only one carrying an anime character as an avatar here. Would be good to see a few others around.

The rule in this forum is 100x100 pixels or 20kB, whichever is smaller.

Patience while encoding and experimenting is a virtue.

I've always liked a lot of anime shows. Slayers got me started actually (Dragon Slave!!!), and after that, i just can't stop wanting to see more. I've seen too many to count and as of now, I'm waiting for the future episodes of Chobits and Rahxephon.

                                p.s. This thread's starting to go off-topic...
