Whats with this movie?

I was trying to convert The Southpark Movie using TMPGEnc and I got a illegal floating decimal point error. Here are the stats on the movie:

Also for future use how to I just copy the frame with the Avi information in Virtualdub?

1) If it's not just a typo, a resolution of 720x482 is not acceptable (s/b 720x480).

2) The 1:12 audio/video interleave may be the cause of the error message. Therefore, load the file into VirtualDub. Set BOTH "Audio" and "Video" to "Direct Stream Copying". Save the file with a new filename (By default, VirtualDub is set to interleave audio/video at a 1:1 ratio).

By the way, what format are you trying to convert to - MPEG1, MPEG1-VideoCD, MPEG2, MPEG2-SuperVideoCD?

Yea it was a typo and im trying to convert to Mpeg 1 video cd. ill run it through Virtual dub. What is the difference between Mpeg1 and mpeg1 vcd?

It didnt work I ran it through virtual dub and I tried converting it and I got the Illegal floating decimal point calculation order error Do I just need to imput the audio/video ratio manually and run it through virtual dub?

I'm not clear about your last post - Are you saying that VirtualDub also geberated a "floating point" error, or that the newly saved file also generated the error under TMPGEnc?

Just curious at this stage - have you successfully played the original .AVI in it's entirety? If so, did you observe any "glitches"?

If you load the newly created modified .AVI into VirtualDub and look at the "File Information" how many video frames and audio frames does it indicate?

They dont match. is that the problem?

I have watched the first part of the movie (further than the conversion gets)
The Converting gets to like 13%
I didnt see any "glitches" or anything it was actually a really good quality movie

"The 1:12 audio/video interleave may be the cause of the error message." - From my earlier post. This is a reference to the number of audio frames and video frames that you've now observed ;>}

I'd suggest that you:

Load the original .AVI into VirtualDub
Set "Video" to "Direct Stream Copying"
Set "Audio" to "Full Processing Mode"
From under the "Audio" dropdown menu, click on "Compression" and select "Uncompressed (PCM)"
From the "File" dropdown menu select "Save as WAV" and save your audiostream with a new filename - with a ".WAV" extender

Set "Audio" to "No audio"
From the file dropdown menu, select "Save as AVI" and save the "silent" .AVI with a new filename - with a ".AVI" extender

If you didn't generate an error doing the above, TMPGEnc should accept the silent .AVI and the .WAV for input...

Yea ill try that but I just realised that I have Virtual dub 1.2 I just got 1.4.10 but ill go though your instructions

I have had this prob too with any res and here is how to solve it:

increase the directshow priority to a higher level

tick/untick all the check boxes in the quantize matrix settings,

it always works for me and other folk.
