    Trouble enconding MPEG-2

Hi everyone, im havng trouble rendering out a high res MPEG-2 for DVD5, it keeps coming out choppy and blocky, does anyone have any idea how the big industry render high res MPEG-2 into DVD's???

and believe me, i've used many settings, double pass, telecine pulldown, tried full constant bitrate (9,200kbps for DVD), variable bitrate, but maybe im missing something.

i can post con samples if u guys wanna see more clearly what i mean.

Please try the "variable bitrate" with the "two-pass" selected and see if it makes any difference. If the problem persists, I guess that you may have the field order problem. Please try to change the "Field order" from Interlaced, bottom field first to Interlaced top field first. Please post back to let us know about the result

What is the resolution of your original file anyway, AVI with 720x480 resolution? If it is much smaller resolution, I don't know for sure how well the Main Concept Encoder can handle the upsizing the video. For upsizing the video to 720x480, I would use AviSynth script with Lanczos4Resize filter which is a great video resizing filter and frameserve the .avs file to Sony Vegas using VFAPIconvEn
