You can find out about the sound bitrate by playing the video in WMP6.4, then choosing File -> Properties -> Advanced. Find out which filter is being used to play the audio, MP3 the most likely candidate. There you can find out the bitrate of the audio.

finding the bitrate i of anything is not that hard if you knwo the definition of bits and bytes lesson here:
      1 byte = 8 bits
      1 kilobyte (K / Kb) = 2^10 bytes = 1,024 bytes
      1 megabyte (M / MB) = 2^20 bytes = 1,048,576 bytes
      1 gigabyte (G / GB) = 2^30 bytes = 1,073,741,824 bytes

you have megabytes you want kiloBITs/second
to calculate Kbps of a 200mb episode yof 23 minutes(1380 sec) you would do this:

      200MB * 2^20bytes/1MB * 8bits/1Byte *1Kbit/2^10Bits / 1380sec = 1187Kbps

      or

      200 * 2^20 * 8 / 2^10 / 1380 = 1187

You can do this for sound or video..its just Kbps = KiloBITS per second

Or you can just use Gordian Knot and enter in the length the size that the file is, clikc your audio overhead and type in the size of the audio file in the video file and you get a bitrate.

To figure out the size of the audio just use direct stream copy on the audio in Vdub and go to File->save Wav. This will save the actual audio with the extenion .wav, just change it.

The use of a calculator will simplify the whole procedure.

I didn't mean it to be funny. I appreciate the maths, but I know many would prefer the convenience of a calculator.

I understand Enchanter, it was funny because I was reading it, getting intrested but it was a bit long, reminds me of my maths class, then u said the calc would simplify these things! Take the easy way out! LOL

But seriously, that is quite good formula/explanation.

              Greatly apprecaited
