How to encode a DVD Shrink image into a DivX file - using Gordian Knot

    Hello peeps,

I have decrypted several DVDs using DVD Shrink and each of them is stored in my hard disk as an image file. Now, I want to convert those image files into DivX/XviD using Gordina Knot. Can somebody help me with the conversion please! I know there is a guide to decrypt a DVD directly into a DivX file using Gordian Knot but not for cases like mine!

use isobuster to extract the files from the image into a folder on your hard disk, or just mount the image with daemon tools.

    then follow the guide

i can understand extracting the files will be a lengthy method, but mounting the image file (with daemon tools, or alcohol 120%, imagedrive, etc) takes about a second. it will be just as if the files have been extracted and are already on the hard disk

no idea, never used it. ive always used alcohol 120%. but it shouldnt be too difficult, look around, or do a google search.

as for loading files into gordian knot, once you mount the image, the dvd VOB files will be in the virtual drive you created, eg V:. see the dvd to divx with gordian knot guide at digital digest

Well, I somehow got thru mounting the image file in Nero Imagedrive. Late last week, I downloaded the latest version (0.36 ,eh???) of Gordian Knot and that came with a lotta strings attached! As for the guide presented in Digital Digest, it reads about the older version (.28.x). I feel like I am lost hea'...

Also, do you mean that GK will load up those files and start decrypting from scratch again??, If yes, that sure sucks - man!!!!

Free and easy way: Daemon Tools and AutoGK, as others have mentioned. However, if your ISO files have full structure DVD folders, AutoGK may not be able to read them. It seems to need DVD Decrypter ripped in IFO mode.

dont know whether it takes dvd structure (i think it might), but should take a dgindex project file, which takes no time at all (when not demuxing audio tracks)

                        Peeps -

I don't mean to give an attitude here (Please dont mistake me here - I am trying to make a point)...but many a times I have noticed that too many suggestions really deviate the problem way too off. I have tried to make it as simple as possible by reading just the Gordian Knot guide - but they do not mention anything about how to convert an Image file.

So is there a straight forward tool or a guide to do "just" that?? Too many softwares and eventually slow speed is really gettin' on my nerves!! Please help!

p.s : Again, I am extremely sorry if I sent a wrong impression. I have very high regard for all those people in forums like this who take that extra time to help others

futurex's suggestion should work, mounting the iso, and encoding from there should be just as fast as if you had the VOBs in a folder
