why not Virtualdubmod alone

For DVD or VOB to AVI(Xvid encoded) conversion,what is the advantage of using AutoGK or Staxrip instead of Virtualdubmod alone?

Well with VDubMod by itself that means filtering in VDubMod which means converting to RGB24. Also means processing audio via ACM, so no VBR mp3.

So, slower encoding times, lower quality video and audio (unless you leave it AC3. Err, should have reversed that. With audoGK, etc. you get faster encoding times and higher video/audio quality.
