    DVD player with Divx function

I recently bought a DVD player which has a DivX function and i thought it would make life easier without needing to convert avi to vcd or dvd, but i tried playing a cd containing episodes of an anime and it doesn't play. I checked the file on computer and its DivX codec. Any help? Sorry i'm very new to all this.

Also, any guides to wmv --> divx, i've tried many but the audio and video always out of sync.

I have a lot of wma, avi and DIVX files on my cpu and I hear there are DVD players that can play all of these. I have done some research and asked some friends, but I would like the opinion of the experts on here. So which DIVX DVD players would you suggest that I can watch all of those files

The research from other people suggested the best player is Philips DVP5140/37. would your recommend this one or another one? I would like to spend under $100 (that one is only $50). Please help

        Thanks

The Philips DVP 51xx are the best alternative for DivX, XviD and optional subtitles. It works like a charm indeed, don't bother looking at other brands or models.
