    Virtual Dub and Vobsub problem!!!!

    Hi

I downloaded a divx movie (AC3 soud) and the subtitles were also included (vobsub).
    I installed vobsub and virtualdub.
I activated the filter right and choose direct stream with 'audio'
But with the 'video' I had to compress it again. So I choose the divx 5 pro codec. I entered the right bitrate (calculated with a proper bitrate calculator)
But the movie which then gets created is 4 times smaller than the original movie. When you try to play it you only get the sound and a black window.
Even if I set the bitrate in a 4 time higher rate the size of the new movie stays 4 times smaller than the original.

Please help me. I just want to merge the subtitles in an existing Divx......

    Thanx in Advance,

some programs cant play AC3 for some reason somtimes
eg. windows media player & divx player etc
just endode the audio 2 MP3
and for the video have you left the resolution settings inside
    Div-x 5 ?
you shold use nandub better than virtual dub

I had this confusion a while back - Install the AC3 filters and you're sorted. See if you can find the file iviaudio.ax. This is an AC3 decoder which comes with WinDVD. It's also available elsewhere on the net, but I can't find it right now. I'll come back to you when I do...

if you change it to mp3 it should be listneable (is there such english)
bcoz that happened to me when i was ripping PSX movies
but when i changed to Mp3 i could listen to it
