    355kbps * 3h = 470 MB (without sound)
    600kbps * 3h = 790 MB (without sound)

That's simple mathamatics and no program can change that. simply burn the movie on 2 CDs and you can use the whole 1400 MB. For a DVD-Ripp I would never go lower than 800kbps and that still is not DVD-like-quality.

well, sometimes, ANY ONLY sometimes, if u increase the res, the bitrate goes high but then it would be > 700MB.

        use 2cdrip

or cut end crdits off and start trailers off if possible
