resolution with tv out .. ?

does anybody know a solution to adjust a divx screen size so it would fit a whole 70cm widescreen television ? when i play the divx and watch it on my tv, i get a small screen. i've tried setting my screen's resolution lower (800*600), but then it's too big.
i've tried zooming the tv, but that doesn't make a lot of difference.
the whole canvas is too small, not only top and bottom, also left and right.

any suggestions ?

If it's not a very old tv, it depends on your video-card or the driver. Most newer vodeo-cards with tv-out allow to adjust the picture size in the driver's menu or a special tool.

try to update ur driver.

Maybe the card does not support higher res.

Try TVTOOL.

Reducing, the resolution is usually the best method of improving performance.

Equally important, reduce the color (try 16 bit) it should be the fastest.
