    Framerates

    So, I see a lot of different framerates out there. Why so many? And what's the best framerate to use in different applications (DVD player, watching on a PC, etc)?

    Regular TV in North America uses the NTSC format which is 29.97 frames per second. Regular TV in Europe uses the PAL format which is 25 frames per second. Now each format has it own size. There is a 3rd format called SECAM.

      i c....i live in north america, so if i want to watch movies on my dvd player, i want to convert my files to 19.97 fps?
