    Spliting problems&Vob2Audio problems

    1. I rip The Phantom Menace and the result avi file r 1.25gb size. After the spliting with nundab( i do the exact steps from the guide) te result files r 599mb and 681mb size. Why not aprox. exact size?I split in exact middle of the avi file.
    2. When i try to extract the mp3 file with vob2audio....my audiostreem section remain empty. I mention that the *.lst and *.ifo files r in the same directory with the rest of the vobs. Same result even if i try to save as ac3 or wave

1: the problem is that divx is a variable bitrate codec, this means that some parts use higher bitrates than others. Therefor simply splitting in the middle isn't very precise.

You can use the 'goto last key frame before' feature in nandub to find a more precise cuting point, but it usually produce a slightly oversized first file. So you will probably need to step back a few keyframes for this to work.

The most precise cutting tool I know of is avisplitcalc, this has always produced perfect results for me.

2: use DVD2AVI to extract the audio, select demux all in the audio menu, and select save project file in the files menu, this will create an DVD2AVI project file and demux the audio streams.

When you have extracted the audio, you will probably want to convert from AC3 to mp3, for this I suggest using Besweet.

I try to use besweet but when i try to push ac3 to mp3 button...nothing heppening...and i do all exact steps from the besweet guides.
          i your opinion...what's the best...ac3 or mp3?
When i extract the sound with xmpeg...i extracted directly in mp3 format.

Sounds like you only got the gui.
You allso need the Besweet itself which is just a commandline tool. And tell BesweetGUI where to find Besweet.exe.
Your Besweet gui should look like this. (see attatched file)

OK, when you have setup the input ac3 and output mp3 in the Besweetgui.
Try copying the contents of the 'command line' box in the Besweetgui into a MS-Dos command prompt.
Then press enter to execute the command, this shoud give you a more meaningfull error message.
Copy the results and post them here.

In Ms-dos promt i put this:
                    e:\dvd utilities\besweet\besweet.exe
the result was:bad comand or file name
                    I mention that when i press ac3-mp3 button....a ms-dos window apear for a short time(less then 1 sec)...a small hdd activity...and nothing more.

This happens because you have a 'space character' in the path.
when this is the case you must enclose the path in " characters, like this "e:\dvd utilities\besweet\besweet.exe" just like besweet does.

Yes, what the besweetGUI does, is to execute a command in the dos prompt, the prompt then exits when the command is done.
This is why I asked you to copy the commandline from BesweetGUI.

That would also do, but then some of your other programs might not work, if they use anything in the dvd utilities directory.

Yes this is what happens when you call besweet without any arguments, it responds with a short explanation of the arguments.
you must copy the entire string from BeSweetGui 'command line' text box.

I think something like this, is pretty much the standard settings.

                              Code:
                              "e:\dvd utilities\besweet\besweet.exe" -core( -input "d:\shafttest\shaft.ac3" -output "d:\shafttest\shaft.mp3" ) -azid( -z1 -b1 -g max ) -ota( -g max ) -lame( --alt-preset 128 )
Or if you could just post the command line, that the BesweetGui displays that would also be great.
