Well. I have recently been putting avi., mpeg, etc. files on to a DATA DVD and then watching them using my DVD player that supports divx, avi, mpeg, etc. Anyhow, I just tried using a DVD-RW so that I can re-write it when I am finished watching the movie clips, and the max. burn speed as 2X and the video playback just seemed to be slowish/stuttery. Without sounding like an idiot, is it fair to assume that the lower the write speed the slower the video file is going to sort of "playback". I mean I have written stuff at like 16X on a normal DVD+R and it looked fine. If I write at a higher speed, do they actually run or playback faster or is it my eyes playing tricks?
Write Speed factor anything?

The read speed of any DVD by an external DVD player is 1X
The write speed of a burner is exactly that, the write speed. The higher the speed written, the greater the chance of burning errors.
Here is a good read... It is called the "Golden Rules of Burning".Gary D
