    DVDX: has generate errors and will....

    Hi,

    This is the first time I use dvdx1.8. My OS is Window2000 proffesional. DVDX can run window200 as i can read.

    After I set al the settings and press the encode button the program start to convert to .mpg file. After 2 minute it generate this:

    "Dvxd has generate errors and will be closed by window.
    You will need to restart the program. An error log is beeing created."


    Questions:

    1. 1 million dollar question : WHY DID IT CRASH ???
    where is the error log file ? is it user.dmp ? and is it encoded?

    2. another million dollar question: how can I resolve this ?


    ASPI ? where can I download the latest ? It that the problem ?


    can anybody help me ?

      Yes, I think this is most like the problem.

      Let me guess you are converting directly from the DVD, as opposed to ripping the dvd to harddisk first, correct ?.

      I strongly recommend that you rip the DVD to HD before converting it. Programs like Smartripper or DVD Decryptor will do this for you.

      As for getting the newest aspi. Try getting forceaspi dl from http://www.doom9.org.
      Donate your idle CPU time for something usefull.

          Thanks for reply, I did rip the dvd first to my hd with smartripper and then start encode with dvdx18a.

          let me see first the url you send me.

              Hi,

              It didn't help khp, I install the lastest ASPI but it still won't work. Also ripping the dvd to my HD. Still get the message (see above).

              strange things is going on here.

                  Yes, if you already ripped the movie o HD, the problem is unlikely to be aspi.

                  Unfortunaty I don't have much experience with DVDX and I'am completly clueless about (s)vcd related problems.
                  So I can't really be of much help sorry.
                  Donate your idle CPU time for something usefull.
