How Can I Get Divx 4 And 5 On The Same System?!

I hate encoding with DivX 5 because the quality is terrible, but I need it to veiw alot of DivX5 videos properly...how can I have it so that both codecs are on my system at the same time?

    YES!

DIVX 5 plays all DIVX 4 and 3.11alpha vids.

However, if u want to convert an encoded DIVX 5 avi to MPEG using TMPGENC, uninstall DIVX 5 and install v4.xx

no, I don't think you understood my question. I need both codecs on the same system at all times. So that DivX 5 plays all content, but the 4.12 codec is still installed so that I can use it to encode.

            hm......dunno then, sorry!

Encode using DIVX 3.11alpha, better quality and compression!

But I'am a bit confused as to why you are getting worse quality with divx5. If you turn off all the new features of divx5, it should preform next to identically to divx4. Unless you are using some strange resolution.

lol I'am sorry, but anyone who could possible claim, to be anything but a newbie with divx5, would have known how to find the modified version of divx4.

But hey, if you don't want my help with your divx5 problems that is your loss.

Not my problem....I used the NIMO pack and updated the 5.0.1 codec to 5.0.2 to get both codecs running..I haven't even bothered with your link yet (cuz I don't need it anymore) but yes, I would say I probably know more about DivX than most people using these forums...maybe even you....could somebody lock this thread up so I don't get emails everytime somebody replies?
