FlaskMPEG and Kernell32 error

Hello!

I hope that you can help me out.
I use Flask for some time now but it has an annoying habbit of giving me the message "FlaskMPEG caused error in Kernell32.dll..." when I want to close the program. I start it normally, it encodes normally and then this error. It is really very annoying cause the message won't disappear and it destabilizes the system.
It happens very often when I use Flask 0.594 and all the time with Flask 0.6 Preview.

Can anyone help?

O.K.

I found the post mentioning the same problem and advising to use Mpeg2avi but maybe there are other ideas around. I'm kinda used to FlaskMPEG

This is a know problem with version 0.6, it only occurs when shuting down flask, it does not affect the avi files created before shuting down, and should not cause system instabillity (if it does there's something wrong with your OS).

As I said it also happens with Flask 0.594. My system (Windows ME) has been working fine until now.
The problem with the error is that its message remains on the screen although I press Close. The only way to get rid of it is to move it from the screen or restart the system.
This is not a very big problem as the encoding process runs just fine but it is pretty annoying to be forced to restart Windows every time Flask is closed.

Well, I guess there is no easy solution to the problem.

I feel your pain, without fail, everytime I try to exit Flask after encoding I get the same error and then I have to restart the system. If it wasn't for this problem it would be a very smooth process. Let me know if you find anything.

Strange, with win98 I usually have to press close 3 times before it disappear completly.

It happens to me too...I use ME....no mattter how many times u press close it WON"T go!!! So u either move it or reboot....

I gave Flask away and used NanDub.....no bugs with better results

Maybe I should listen to your advice Homerlovesbeer and change Flask to Nandub or I will have to accept the fact that after encoding a movie I have to restart my computer Windows is such a beautiful OS that I'm forced to restart my computer quite frequently so one more time from time to time doesn't make a big difference, does it?

I'm using ME as well, I just started feeling comfortable with Flask so I really didn't want to switch to Nandub. Plus I've heard that with the 2 pass method in Flask its very similar to Nandub. Personally I can't see how much better Nandub could possibly be cause the quality with Flask Divx 2 pass is excellent..

I downloaded Flask version Flaskv6_preview1_1.exe and it seems to be the same as version 060 but without the Kernel32 crash! try it and see, you can get it at http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/do...flaskmpeg.html

I personally think it's the codec that causes this, as I also experienced this error before. I think I always used the divx codec 3.11 when this happens, now I prefer to use "angle portions" divx codecs (slow motion) and I never receive the error.

I also had the same problem, but I noticed that if I wait enough time (1 min) before closing FlaskMpeg after it finished its processes, everything ends fine.
