avi files to work on regular dvd players?

What program do you use to take a avi file movie and fix it so you can use dvd shrink. Or is there a free program that does it all. Ive done it once before using dvd flick but now im having problems.

Also i downloaded a avi file and the audio seems to play faster the what the video is playing at. Is there a way to fix this

You can't use AVI files with Shrink. Shrink needs a DVD-Video as input.

You can try AVI2DVD to convert your AVIs, but be cautious. I have had several problems after installing AVI2DVD. It installs also a lot of codecs, and obviously, some of them are conflicting with the codecs installed by other programs.

What i have been doing is using vso divxtodvd then opening the file with dvd shrink and it seems to work fine what ive noticed is it doesnt use up the whole disc.

You shouldn't need to use Shrink after converting.
