Hi, All. I think I found a new way to convert DVD's to an other movie format.
This is what I do:
1. I merge the movie-vobfiles with "A.F.7 merge your files" which results in a approximately 4Gb file. (I've never seen anyone doing this before... merging vobfiles is no problem. The merged movie is still 100% OK)
2. I open this file in VirtualDub-1.6.19 MPEG2-version. (Takes a few minutes)
- I change resolution & add a subtitle with the movie filters...
- Select audio / Full processing mode. Compression Lame mp3. Change bitrate to 160kbps, but keep the original frequency to be sure to get no audiosync problem.
- Video compression - Xvid 800 kbps.
3. Save as Avi...
This works great for me. Converted about 15 movies for my Palm LifeDrive, they all play without any problem.
It takes only a few minutes to configure VirtualDub and then you can start converting. (It's even possible to do more DVD's at once...)
I've never seen this solution on any site...
Any comments?
