    ? Re-encoding Just Part of a Video

    Hi,

I’ve got a bunch of videos that just barely fit on a disc, so I need to cut them down by just a little. I cannot cut anything out, but the beginning and end of each video is unimportant, so I would like to re-encode those parts to a lower quality/bitrate. Is this possible? How?

    Thanks.

DVD Rebuilder though I'm not sure if this can be done with the free version.

Can be done with Virtualdub( I tried it with VirtualdubMPEG2).
Select the part u want to re-encode. Re-encode it at a lower video bitrate(using the same compressor as original).Save it. Select the rest(which u do not want re-encoded) and save as Direct Stream Copy for both video and audio. Now join the two.

Sounds too obvious and too easy. I’ll give it a shot.
