    DivX 4

    hey all,

im just curious about divx 4.

Is there an easy way to estimate the final file size on a 2 pass encoding? Also is it best to rip the sound to MP3 via the VOB's and then encode the movie to divx 4 or do the movie and sound all at once.

    Thanx for ne info

Go and get any of the newer bitrate calculators, they'll give you a pretty close estimate. But the final filesize pretty much also depends on how much "change" there is in the movie file itself ...

About mp3 audio, in my experience (which isn't much) it's a little better (if more complicated) to do the audio separately because you can do all sorts of stuff like normalizing and amplifying before weaving it back into the video file.
