Hello.
I'm looking for a relatively quick answer to my problem, so please forgive me for not going through the numerous FAQs, stickies, and such.
I capture a lot of video from a satellite receiver, using IUVCS, and the PICVideo MJPEG compressor set to "quality 19". The files are typically 40 gig, and 3 1/2 hours in length. (I'm capturing football games)
I then edit the file to remove commercials (Virtual Dub), and split the file into two halves.
TMPgenc is then used to encode (VBR, NTSC, 29.97 frames, interlaced), and the files are then burned to two DVDs.
I do all of this "work" so that I can send games to my friend in the UK.
Now, his DVD player supports DIVX, so I was thinking that I could compress that whole 40 gig file (commercials and all), into one that could be burned to a single DVD-5, saving me loads of time.
I would still like to maintain similar quality, or as much as I can get.
What is my best options in terms of encoders, and settings? I don't mind purchasing software if need be.
All advice is appreciated.
