Why does my conversion not play Full Screen?

Why is it that when I convert a program taken from my dvr to say divx, (using the same bitrate, resolution, fps etc.) the converted program doesn’t play at full screen on my TV like the original? What am I missing??

When you say it doesn't play at full screen, do you mean there are black bars at the sides of the video, at the top, or all the way around?

It might depend on Video Size - try to increase the video size parameter when converting. If the video size is too small, the TV wont expend it (because than a quality loss will be shown).
