How to change timestamp on a chapter?

I have come across a few dvd videos that I could not convert to avi and burn. One of the chapters has a time stamp of 25 hours?. I have seen this problem occasionally. Is this done on purpose to stop people fromcopying and burning?. Whatever the reason may be is there a software program out there that will allow you to change the time stamp for a chapter to it's true time? so that I can burn a copy of it?. Thanks
