I have a MPEG-video so not a MPEG-file, what codec do I need?

I have a file that is a: mpeg VIDEO, so not just a MPEG file. If I play it with mediaplayer, The form is more stretched. what kind of codec do I need? Note: I have windows XP! THNQ

If you can see the video and hear the sound you don't need any additional codec. If the video is stretched (vertical or horicontal, not in time) it may be encoded with the wrong aspect ratio or tha aspect ratio for VCD/SVCD that is not 4:3. You could resize the windowsize by hand or you use a player like BSplayer that allowes to choose 4:3 or any other ratio.

Well.....is it MPEG or MPEG 2? If it is MPEG 2 video..use a different MPEG2 codec..like ligos

You can also play your MPEG files in powerdvd...it can sometimes solve this problem. I don't know how it's done but it can do it.
