    Shrinking DIVX or XVID rips

Could someone suggest a way to compress a two CD divx / xvid movie to one CD? I am ok with some quality loss.

re-encode at a lower bitrate with something like virtualdub. prefer xvid over divx

Thx for the reply. Yes that sounds logical however i cannot seem to find a guide for this procedure. I used to use GK to shrink DVDs to divx / xvid however can't seem to figure out how to use this app on xvid's. When i use VD i pick full processing on both Video and Audio and i select the xvid codec under compression but i am hit all sorts of errors. Are they any programs designed to do this for the ignorant?

You should set the video to fast recompress. You may want to resize down though. Also since the audio would be AC3, you would need fccHandler's AC3 ACM codec installed for VDub to process the audio.

        Try AutoGK or AVIRecomp.
