Hi there,
Can anyone help me with the following problem? Since I have reinstalled my Windows XP, all workes fine again, except the Video applications in Nero. They just freeze up my Windows and shows not responding in my task manager. Also, CPU for the Nero application goes up to 99%. I can not tell you if did happened before the reinstallation of Windows XP because I did not experience any problems before.

I have looked for an answer on the Internet, but all suggestions do not apply to my problem. My EDI settings are set to DMA, I disable IMAPI, downloaded the latest video driver, I reinstalled Nero with 3 different versions and even tried DVD Shrink instead. Also this program gives me the same result. Therefore I believe I must miss something simple that was set different on my previous configuration. Or some settings are different why it is not working or I am missing some supportive programs or tools.

Nero is working properly for all other applications; burning a data DVD or even a lightscribe image are no problem at all. Only when I am trying to use recode it freezes after analyzing the file. Yes, it imports the file perfectly, even showing me the preview of the movie in the small screen when I want to. But after that, nothing. When using Nero Express and choosing a movie DVD to burn, I can import the file, but as soon as I press next to start the process, it is counting the expired time, but doesn’t do anything about the time left. It simply doesn’t start doing anything. Also my PC gets slower that it ever did before during this process, even surfing on the Internet is too much asked.

I really do not understand what I am missing here. It can not be the hardware or software, because this all together worked fine before the reinstallation of the same Windows package.

Everything else is working beautifully again, except I do not seem to be able to download and install SP2 for XP (not that I really want to). Somehow this keeps failing. I do not know if this can be related, but mention it nevertheless because I find it weird.

Before I start sending all kinds of reports or sum up my soft- and hardware, I hope that there is someone out there who has any idea in what direction to look for the problem. Like I said, all worked well before so it seems pointless for me to start telling what’s connected in and installed on my computer.

Anyone?

It would be so much appreciated……….
