I decided to try out the Windows Movie Maker program that came pre-installed on my Media Center PC. Only I've run into a problem. The program does not accept the file structure on any of my dvds burned on a set top dvd recorder, or on RAM discs. I can use the capture card to capture video played back by connecting the dvd recorder to the video/audio inputs, but the prospect of spending so much time capturing rather than just copying the disc to the drive and getting on with some editting and stuff, is most unattractive.
So how do I go about turning video files into different file types, ones that will be acceptable to WMM? What do I need to do? Are there any free programs that can do this? This pc cost a fortune, and I'm more than a little miffed that I can't do the things I was led to believe that I could.
Thank you...
