Alright, so one more discovery. When I playback the file using PowerDVD, it plays perfectly. But when I use DVDShrink to play the file, it adds the skips. Is it possible that it's just DVDShrink and I should try a different recording program? I don't see why PowerDVD would work and not DVDShrink though...

Not that we are allowed to talk about DVD Shrink here (rule 19), but why are you using DVD Shrink to play the file? To burn the movie to disc?

      Try ImgBurn:

So I tried ImgBurn (I had it on my computer for firmware upgrades for Blu-Ray) and what do you know... it actually works. I haven't had a problem yet. I am gonna try a couple others, but thank you for suggesting that! I didn't even think about trying it.

Just a quick update, I've also tried Nero to record the discs and end up with same problem, it seems as if ImgBurn is the only thing that works properly.
