Quick AVI Convertor x264 "zone" settings?

I've recently started messing around with Quick AVI Convertor. I've done some conversions to .avi using xvid with fine results. Now I'm trying it out as a means to compress .mkv.

I gather the x264 encoder has a "zone" setting that's commonly used to be stingy on the bitrate and other settings during the credits so as to have more bits to sprinkle on the rest of the video. QAC seems to insist on this param being used. Is anyone familiar with how to disable it? And also how to use it effectively?

I checked out the wiki for x264 and it gives some syntax but QAC doesn't seem to like it if you try to edit the command line directly.

    Any guidance appreciated.

edit: looks like it was too easy. Just use preview slider thingy to get the frame where the credits start and paste the number in. Duh!!

I wish I ran into this program earlier. Looks like it may be a good alternative to Handbrake.
