What MPEG-4 profiles security cameras produce?

They almost never say this, they only usually say they have MPEG-4/H.264/MJPEG triple codec.

I don't want to have to buy the camera to learn this. Do they share chipsets? Maybe there are only 1-2 chipsets shared between them all? Where can I find information?

I would say your best bet is to send an email to the manufacturer and ask. It's also a great way to find out how just competent their sales/tech support is before buying the product.
